28 September 2012 – The Sandyford Fruit Commute

The first Sandyford Fruit Commute promotion is happening at the Sandyford and Stillorgan Luas stops on Friday 28th September between 7.30am – 9am. We’ll be thanking public transport users, walkers and cyclists for choosing sustainable transport options with complimentary fruit and handy Sandyford transport guides.

It is the first in a number of promotional events that will be taking place over autumn as part of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Sandyford Smarter Travel initiative for the Sandyford Business District – see www.sandyfordsmartertravel.ie.

The first Walk and Talk Wednesday 30 minute lunchtime leisure walk will be taking place on Wednesday 3rd October at 1.15pm. Starting outside Café Togo on the Carmenhall Road, the walk will follow a short 2.5km circular track around central Sandyford.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made a significant investment in the Sandyford Business District since 2010. Improvements include the development of a new Sandyford Greenway, improved walking and cycling facilities, traffic management and safety measures and the launch of an Area Wide Mobility Management Plan and the development of a travel website.
